An Ode to the Creators

I have great respect for the creatives

One of the main reasons I started this blog was because I love researching and writing about creative people. I am fascinated by an individual who can dream of something and then have the talent and confidence to create it. Someone who is able to sit down and map out an idea and the end result is a beautiful piece of work. I do not have a creative bone in my body which is why I am so enamored with those who are artistic. Over the last few months I have discovered quite a few creatives that I really adore. Here are the individuals whose work I am currently coveting.

Designers whose pieces, and ethos, I appreciate:

Maria McManus

Recycled fabrics and timeless design

Another Tomorrow

Using fashion as a pathway to activism while designing gorgeous, lifetime pieces.

Pamela Card

Jewelry that looks like it was discovered in the antique markets of Europe.

A di Gaeta

Italian footwear brand whose designs are both practical, and beautiful. Her designs are classic and her production methods are an ode to Italian craftsmanship.

Lisou

This is a UK brand whose pieces are truly art. I have dreams of wearing one of her silk matching sets to a party someday.

House of Dagmar

If I could chose one brand to dress me for the rest of my life I would chose this brand. That is a bold claim but every piece is perfect and will never go out of style.

Completed Works

A jewelry brand whose pieces have the look of something you would find in a museum. I particularly love their items that mix gold and pearls.

Nomasei

I first fell in love with their beautiful loafers but quickly realized that every shoe produced by this french brand c’est parfait.

Deadwood Studios

I love the look and feel of leather. This Stockholm brand creates pieces from recycled leather which is far more environmentally friendly than traditional leather production. Each piece from Deadwood Studios has an edge to it that I really appreciate.

With Nothing Underneath

I could spend my entire life living in button downs. WNU creates the best ones I have ever found. And they are shockingly affordable for incredibly high quality.

Sudara Jewelry

I love the look of chunky gold jewelry. Here is the caveat; it can be insanely expensive. The pieces by Sudara are affordable and gorgeous.

Allison Bornstein

I feel like I am constantly being told that in order to recreate a look I need to buy all the items. Allison is an incredibly talented stylist who helps you use the pieces you already own to recreate your favorite looks. Not only that she helps you find your personal style and fall in love with your clothing again. She makes you feel that your closet is enough, and that constantly buying items isn’t required.
