My love for buying clothes secondhand is very well documented at this point. I previously wrote a post about how to narrow down exactly what you are looking for on resale sites. Now I want to deep dive into exactly which brands and items I search for.
When I go onto The RealReal I enter the zone. I start by searching for specific items and then go down a black hole of looking at anything and everything currently available. There are specific items and brands I feel confident buying secondhand. Pieces that cost exponentially less on resale sites.
The brands and pieces I look for on resale sites
Brands
Joseph
I love the classic styles of the brand Joseph. I seek out outerwear by Joseph on resale sites because the silhouette is beautiful and the quality is outstanding. Buying Joseph outerwear secondhand is much more affordable, but you can rest easy knowing you are buying something that was designed and created to last a lifetime.
Stella McCartney
I am a big fan of the ethos of Stella McCartney and the push the company has made for increased awareness of sustainability in the fashion world. Due to the materials used the pieces from Stella McCartney can be very expensive. This is why I shop her pieces secondhand. I particularly look for her blazers and dress pants which have a very classic and timeless style.
Max Mara
There is no brand that speaks to timeless style like Max Mara. My main search under the Max Mara brand is their outerwear and trousers. The coats and jackets are inheritance pieces and I get very excited when I can find one in great condition. My absolute favorite find from Max Mara are my camel pants which I scored for $50.

Silk Scarves
I have found so many beautiful silk scarves on resale sites that I adore. A silk scarf is a forever piece so buying an older one only adds to its beauty. There are some brands that can be quite expensive still secondhand (Hermes), but I

I am ready to venture out more and I crave outfits fit for a special occasion. That being said my budget does not allow for brand new dresses whenever my heart desires. That is why I search for these brands because they are gorgeous and hold up beautifully secondhand.

Resort Wear
There are lots of people out there who will buy an entire new wardrobe for an upcoming vacation. Whether that is an island vacation or ski getaway. There seems to be a trend that after spring break and summer break time resale sites get flooded with high end resort wear that was barely worn. The same is said after ski season ends I have found so many great pieces from luxury ski brands being resold.
