There is nothing quite like throwing on an oversized piece of clothing in the winter and feeling cozy and comfortable. One of the main attributes of my coats in the winter months is that I am able to layer underneath them. A key though is finding a coat that is oversized enough to layer underneath and still look put together, not sloppy.
I recently found my drop-shoulder blue wool coat by Tomas Maier on The RealReal (Check out my Secondhand Shopping Guide!) and I love the ease I feel when I wear it. I can wear just a plain t-shirt underneath and it looks great, or my heaviest winter sweater. The oversized look has been a trend for awhile now and it can be tricky to pull off. But, finding a coat that can be worn with very little layers, or with many layers while still looking chic is not impossible.
