Friday Five: Supporting Local

I put this outfit together based around my love, and need, for a great white shirt dress. Summer is in full swing and it’s hot out. Which is why a one and done outfit is the perfect solution to warm weather brain fog. Each of these items comes from a locally owned store whose online site I visit quite often.

Beigelr is perfectly curated with everyday elevated essentials. This Anine Bing shirtdress would the cornerstone of my summer dressing. What I love about a white shirtdress is that it is insanely versatile. Wear it as a coverup for a bathing suit underneath during the day, then transition it to an evening look with some great jewelry and statement sandals.

I simply cannot think about doing my hair during the summer months. Which is why I love the idea of using this colorful scarf to wear over my hair. Jake and Jones is a new find for me and I have discovered so many incredible brands through this store.

How sexy is this body oil? The Sunday Shop in New Orleans not only has beautiful home decor, they also have fantastic beauty products. I browse their site quite often for indie beauty products. And let’s be honest during the hot summer months a little self care is very necessary.

No.6 in New York has a very cool collection of pieces. These sandals look insanely comfortable and their neutral color means they will go with everything.

Summer is the perfect time to wear a really colorful pair of sunglasses. I love the orange tint of these sunglasses from a great shop in Cincinnati called The Most Beautiful Thing in the World Is. Pairing theses sunglasses with some neutral sandals and a white dress really allow them to stand out.

All these pieces can be worn year after year and that is why I love them. Some are brands I have heard of before, and some are new. Browsing locally owned stores I rediscover great established brands and learn about new ones.
