Friday Five: Dressing for the heat

The heat is on across the country and I will say I was very unprepared. So, can you ever be prepared for the sultry mornings and even hotter afternoons (and sweaty nights)? Honestly, just the idea of putting clothes on when it goes above 100 degrees is rough. And, this is why I put together an outfit that might make putting clothes on a little less painful. Pieces that will allow me to look put together, but will keep me from overheating (hopefully).

Friday Five: Dressing for the heat

Let me start with this amazing dress from a new brand Attersee. The fringe aspect is what gets me. I absolutely love how I could throw this on in the morning with ease. It made from linen which gets better and better with age. During the evenings, I would add gold jewelry and it is the perfect “it is too hot to put anything on” dress.

The sandals from Nomasei are minimal enough to wear even when let’s get real the feet are hot, sweaty and bit swollen from the heat. The ties add a fashionable aspect without weighing down the shoe.

I love the look of a canvas bag and straw hat for the hot, hot months of summer. I really want this amazing dress to center point of attention which is why I chose neutral accessories.  The Cesta Collective bag is incredibly versatile and could be worn with quite a few different outfits. The hat is from the Australian brand Lack of Color and is handmade in Mexico.

In this heat, my face feels constantly flushed and in need of some magical calming serum. Which is exactly what the Rose MD skin calming booster does. Apply this when you feel like your face is overheating and the angry redness disappears.

The summer is just getting under way and having an outfit to put on when clothes sound terrible is the perfect anecdote to this heat.
